2017 has already arrived and Bollywood is gearing up for some of the biggest releases and clashes too. There is a lot in 2017 for movie buffs. From prequels to sequels, history to fantasies and much awaited biopics. While 2016 was not good for Bollywood as it hardly saw good cinema 2017 seems to satisfy appetite of Indian movie buffs. India audiences are now open to serious and realistic stuff. While Dangal was the biggest hit of the year which was totally a non glamorous movie, Pink was a sleeper hit which talked loud about burning issues
Raees and Kaabil
The first big clash is between Shahrukh Khan’s ÔÇ£RaeesÔÇØ and Hrithik Roshan’s ÔÇ£KaabilÔÇØ when both the movies will hit the screen together on January 25th 2017. Makers of both these films are busy promoting their movies. Raees is directed by Rahul Dholakia and is based on story of a bootlegger Abdul Latif. Although the makers have denied and claim that movie is a pure work of fiction. Kaabil is a story of two blind couples and their journey of life. After Mohenjo Daro, Hrithik really needs this movie to do well.
Haseena and Daddy
There are two impressive biopics too. Based on Haseena Parkar Life ÔÇ£Hassena:The queen of MumbaiÔÇØwhich stars Shraddha Kappor and Siddhanth Kapoor is based on gangster’s Dawood Ibrahim’s sister. The mussch awaited Apoorva Lakhia’s ÔÇ£DaddyÔÇØ which is based on Mumbai’s gangster Arun Gawli will also hit the screens this year.
Jolly LLB and Tiger Zinda Hai
2017 is going to be seasons of sequels too. ÔÇ£Jolly LLBÔÇØ starring Akshay Kumar in main lead, Naam Shabana starring Taapsee Pannu as main lead which is a sequel to the ÔÇ£BabyÔÇØ, Sarkar 3 as Amitabh Bachann in lead role are some of the awaited sequels. Much awaited sequels are ÔÇ£Tiger Zinda HaiÔÇØ as Salman Khan in lead and Bahubali: The Conclusion which broke all the box office records in India. It is expected to release in April 2017.
Rangoon and Padmavati
In 2017 there will be historical contents too for the viewers. Vishal Bhardwaj’s thriller ÔÇ£RangoonÔÇØ which is set towards the end of the second world war. Trailer of the film is already getting rave reviews. Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s Period Drama ÔÇ£PadmavatiÔÇØ which is set in 14th Century and revolves around Delhi ruler Alauddin Khilji and beautiful Hindu Queen Padmavati of Chittorgarh.
Though there are enough heavy content movies in 2017, bollywood also has its typical Masala Flicks too. David Dhawan’s Judwaa 2, Rhit Shetty’s ÔÇ£Golmaal AgainÔÇØ which is the fourth edition in as series. There will be big Eid releases too. Kabir Khan’s ÔÇ£TubelightÔÇØ starring Salman Khan and Chinese actress Zhu Zhu. Directed by Imtiaz Ali and tentaively titled as ÔÇ£The RingÔÇØ which stars Shahrukh Khan and Anushka Sharma will also release in second half of the year.
With all the above interesting releases,2017 has to be rewarding year of Bollywood
