The shooting of the movie Kadamban started in March 2016 and is at the post production stage at the moment after a year. The film is produced by R. B. Choudary under the banner of Super Good Films. The movie stars Arya and Catherine Tresa in lead roles. Madhuvanti Arun, daughter of popular actor and playwright, Y.G. Mahendra plays a very important role as well.

THE BIGGEST CHALLENGE

Kadamban is written and directed by Ragava. In an interview, revealing about his avid project – Kadamban, Ragava told that shooting with a parade of elephants was a big challenge. In fact, there were scenes in the movie where the crew had to shoot with nearly 60 elephants and one can imagine the difficulty the whole team went through.

Here is how Ragava and his team faced the difficulty with a smile in his own words:

Back in 1953, the film Avvaiyar had shot with over 40 elephants for the climax scene. Though some of the Tamil films that came later had elephants in their films, it is our film for which we had again shot with over 60 elephants. It was challenging for sure. But we have very happy about the way the scenes have turned out

MUSIC FOR KADAMBAN

As said, the Movie is now on the verge of completion. The post production work is wrapping up at a faster pace.

We are almost done with the film and likely to have the audio launch in a couple of week’s time. Yuvan (Yuvan Shankar Raja) has done a phenomenal job with the music. He’s a great composer, no doubt. But when it comes to composing for rural subjects, his songs are even more delightful. He has composed five songs, all of which are of different varieties

IN A REALISTIC WAY

Moreover, it is clearly evident that most the movie scenes revolve around the forest. Hence, it is very important that the song and fight sequences are highly realistic for the movie to reach the audience in the right way. The director also assured that the shots will be realistic and the audience will connect to the movie in the right way.

Be it songs or fights ÔÇö they are all portrayed in a natural manner. The film revolves around forest people. So, we have kept it as realistic as possible.

THE STRUGGLES

Hero Arya gained a lot of weight and sported a perfectly muscular physique to do justice to his role in the movie.

The movie was filmed in the forests of Kodaikanal. As its a forest area, the team had no access to the mobile network and had to struggle for communication as well. As a matter of fact, the team requested the local mobile operators to set up four communication towers in order to make communications with ease.

The film crew had gone through so much of struggle in the process of making Kadamban. Hopefully, the movie reaches the audience and becomes a great hit.
