The latest movie from the YRF showed that how even the traditional production houses have come a long way from the time when Yashraj heroins used to be sari clad on the snow and shying away from the hero.
The movie could not create magic on the Box office but dealt with the same topic of youngsters trying to find the compatibility between then and giving their relationship a chance, with no obligation of living together. Nikhil Advani directed Katti Batti, starred Kangana Ranaut and Imraan Khan in lead roles.
Shuddh Desi Romance
Confusion and last minute realisation were the theme of this movie. Sushant Singh Rajput, Parineeti Chopra and Vaani Kappor were in the lead roles. The movie showed the thinking of today’s youngsters who run away from commitment and want to be in┬áa live-in relationship.
I, Me Aur Main (2013)
John Abraham starred movie could not garner rave reviews but somewhere touched our hearts. There is no doubt that it took the cue from the Ranbeer Kapoor’s Bachna Ae Haseeno and dealt with problems that youngsters have today. John lives with Chitrangada who plays his girlfriend in the movie. However, due to differences, he moves to the neighbourhood apartment with Prachi Desai to find true love.
Live in a relationship has been most gracefully shown in this movie. Aditya Roy Kapoor plays the role of a troubled rockstar who discovers the magical voice of Shraddha and falls in love with her. The movie raises the bar of love very high and breaks the misconception that Lives in relationships are not serious.
We will remember this movie as one of the coolest movies of all times. Saif Ali Khan not only moves in with his girlfriend Deepika Padukone but also has no problem with her friend who lives in the same house. The movie gave us some serious goals for friendship, love and care and was received well by audiences across the ages.
Pyaar Ka Punchnama
It was about three youngsters who just want a casual relationship and suddenly one of them decides to move in with his girlfriend. In a fun way, this movie showed the compromises that you have to make in a living-in relationship and it is not all fun and casual as projected.
Wake Up Sid
Most awkward but cutest projection of a Live in a relationship in a movie. Ranbir Kapoor fights with his dad and comes to live with Konkana Sen. The movie takes us through the story of a young lad who finds his passion in life and also true love in Konkana. Through this movie, Ayan Mukherjee made his debut as a director under Karan Johar’s banner.
Bachna Ae Haseeno
Charming Ranbir Kapoor in this movie was interested only in casual relationship and moved in with Bipasha Basu only to realise that it is not working between them. The movie has a couple of steamy scenes between┬á Bipasha and Ranbir. However, the movie could not get much attention as it looked like just another romantic flick from YRF.
Salaam Namaste raises any important issue of Live in a relationship. It showed how to people in Australia fall in love and decide to move in together due to budget constraints. However, the casual relationship takes a serious turn when Preity gets pregnant and Said does not want a baby. All ends well in after few ups and downs.
